Dr. Marcellus J. Holt, is a seasoned educational leader and consultant with more than
a decade of experience transforming K–12 systems, advancing state and district policies,
and strengthening access to high-quality education. As Senior Manager in the Consulting
Division at TNTP, he provides strategic guidance to schools, districts, and state
agencies nationwide, shaping initiatives that improve equity, student outcomes, and
workforce diversity. Holt has successfully led multimillion-dollar projects, including
securing a $6 million Education Agency RFP, and co-developed statewide frameworks
that support talent performance, post-secondary advising, and teacher professional
learning. His work has consistently earned top evaluations, with Net Promoter Scores
of 9 or 10 over multiple years, and recognition for delivering large-scale solutions
with measurable impact.
Previously, Holt held leadership roles as an assistant principal and director of counseling,
where he expanded Advanced Placement programs, improved post-secondary readiness,
oversaw special education compliance, and directed comprehensive school counseling
services. His efforts resulted in increased college applications, stronger teacher
development, and nationally recognized programming. Earlier in his career, he served
as a school counselor, where he launched initiatives that reduced behavioral referrals
and built strong community partnerships to mentor at-risk students.
Recognized for his expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, and equity-centered
reform, Holt combines policy knowledge with data-driven insights to advise leaders,
implement innovative strategies, and ensure sustainable systems of support for students
and educators.
