Experts: AI should be key retention tool in SC State academics

Faculty members at South Carolina State University learned how they can use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as a partner — not a replacement — in retaining students and enhancing learning this week to open the Spring 2026 Spring Semester. “AI Literacy as a Faculty Superpower: Shaping the Future of Learning and Retention” was among the topics discussed during the university’s Faculty Development Institute on Monday and Tuesday at the I.P. Stanback Museum & Planetarium.

SC State Honors College student selected for London internship focused on sustainable engineering research

Tristan Tyler Jackson will combine academic study with professional internship experience abroad. Tristan Tyler Jackson will spend the spring balancing coursework with professional responsibilities an ocean away from South Carolina State University, applying his studies in nuclear engineering to sustainability-focused work through a global internship experience in London.
