Through South Carolina State’s IBM Skills Academy agreement, you’ll enjoy unique access to internships, apprenticeships, and courses to develop practical skills and experience.

Our computer science courses are taught by faculty members who are experienced computer scientists deeply involved in research and scholarly publication activities. Many of our faculty have IBM Practitioner Certificates in data science, cybersecurity, and business cloud computing.

The learning labs in our new Engineering and Computer Science Complex are equipped with a variety of state-of-the-art computers. You’ll gain extensive insights in a number of programming languages and operating systems. Our labs, many reserved for students in computer science courses, offer UNIX workstations with virtualization capabilities utilizing LINUX and other operating systems.

Gain real-world experience

Our Bachelor of Science in computer science program also includes a senior capstone project course in which you will spend a semester solving a real-world problem. You can also participate in valuable internships and employer apprenticeships.
