Agriculture Innovation Scholarship Program
The SC State 1890 Agriculture Innovation Scholarship Program covers student, tuition, fees, books and room and board. As such, program affords students the opportunity to graduate without student loan debt, as the funding covers the remaining balance after all other scholarships and aid are applied to the recipient’s account.
Each recipient will receive a complimentary laptop and will gain access to internship opportunities with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and USDA-related government agencies.
The grant supports SC State and USDA’s commitment to recruit, retain, train and graduate a career-ready workforce for the agriculture and ag-related industries.

Award Opportunities
• Scholarship awards vary based on individual financial aid packages.
• All scholarships are eligible for renewal, but contingent upon satisfactory academic performance.
In addition to receiving the scholarship award, recipients will each:
• Receive a complimentary laptop
• Annual book stipend of up to $2,000 per year
• Priority housing in a living/learning community
• Access to USDA Internships
• Access to professional and career development opportunities
Eligibility
• Be a U.S. citizen
• Have a weighted and unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
• Have been accepted for admission or currently attending SC State University
• Demonstrated leadership and community service
• Submitted FAFSA to SC State University; Use code 003346
• Submit an official transcript
• Submit test scores of a minimum of 21 ACT and/or 1080 SAT
You must have declared interest in one of the following majors:
• Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness
• Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences – Business
• Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences - Child Development
• Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences - Nutrition and Food Management
• Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences - Fashion Merchandise
