Alexander Thierry
As a professor in the Visual Arts Program, Alexander Thierry focuses on 3D studies and related technology with an emphasis on ceramic art within the B.A. in studio art ceramics and sculpture concentration. He also advises and am the art education specialist, training and supervising art education candidates for the B.S. in art education.
In addition to his work as a professor, he serves as the president of Faculty Senate.
Background
He is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and has been at SC State University since 2017. Before working at SC State, he was an instructor of record at the University of Kansas and a pottery and design teacher at Oak Harbor High School in Oak Harbor, Washington.
His artwork has been shown all over the U.S. and internationally. He has participated in residencies, and fellowships, and has given lectures at craft schools, universities, and conferences.
