Chishimba Mowa
Dr. Chishimba Nathan Mowa is the project director for the Climate-Smart Commodities Project at SC State Public Service & Agriculture. The USDA has funded the project, which is in partnership with Clemson University.

Background
Mowa joined SC State in January 2024. He had worked at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, as a professor of physiology and endocrinology for 16 years and more recently as associate dean of research and professor of biology at Kettering College in Dayton, Ohio. Before joining Appalachian State, he did post-doctoral work at the then Northeastern Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, Ohio, and before this, he worked in his home country, Zambia, in various capacities in the field of veterinary medicine, including academia, wildlife, mixed practice and as a government official.
