Donald Cooper
Coach Donald Cooper manages the men and women's cross country, indoor track and outdoor track teams. He is responsible for the athletic development of the student-athletes while assisting in their academic and social development as well.
Education
- MA Rehabilitation Counseling with a certification in Orientation and Mobility, 1999 SC State University
- BS Criminal Justice with a minor Psychology, 1997 SC State University
Background
Cooper started off at SC State University 13 years ago where he served as the associate head track coach here. During his 13-year absence he served as the Director of cross country/track & field at Bethune-Cookman University. He has also held assistant track coach positions at both Savannah State University and Fort Valley State University.
He is a 2010 SCSU Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee and was a part of the 1994 MEAC Championship football team with the SC State Bulldogs and was awarded several times with the Individual MEAC Champion in track and field.
He holds USTF Level II Coach Certifications in the following:
- Sprints, Hurdles & Relays
- Jumps
- Throws
- Combined Events.
