Eric Ham
Eric Ham has served as South Carolina State University's chief information officer (CIO) since 2023. Ham earned both his Bachelor of Science in mathematics education in 1996 and his Master of Education in secondary education in 2001 with honors from South Carolina State University. Prior to accepting the CIO position at SC State, Ham was director of information technology for the Orangeburg County Consolidated School District 5, where he supervised a staff of 25 and provided strategic direction for the district’s information technology infrastructure and functionality. SC State has heavily invested in shoring up its information technology infrastructure. With the University Computing and Information Technology Services (UCTIS) team, Ham leads the resulting initiatives to support classroom and laboratory learning, remote learning and research and development. From 1996-2002, Ham was a mathematics and technology teacher at Calhoun College High School, where he was Teacher of the Year in 1999.
