Jonona A. Govan

Jonana A. Govan's role is to ensure that federal, state or private grants that flow through the university via OSP are following the regulations, policies and procedures set forth in the terms and conditions of the agreements. In addition, she also assists with budget and budget narrative of proposal for pre award and the submission into research.gov, grants.gov, eRA Commons and other federal and state application portals. After the award is funded, OSP assists with the process for the account setup for post award management (programmatic).

Background

Govan has been employed by SC State since April 2003. She started in Grant and Contract Accounting as a fiscal analyst I and was promoted to fiscal analyst II while in the area. In 2009, she transitioned into a grant position with the Textbooks, Learning & Materials Program until March 2013 as a fiscal manager I. Days before the grant ended, she was presented with an opportunity and offer to work in the Office of Sponsored Programs, where she has worked since April 2013.
