Dr. Louise Anderson Allen is a professor of courses in educational administration, educational leadership, curriculum leadership, instructional leadership and serves as dissertation director.

Background
Dr. Allen joined the faculty as an associate professor at SC State University in January 2007, after having taught at Texas Tech, UNC-Charlotte and Georgia State. Dr. Allen is a South Carolinian native, having attended public schools through my post graduate degree, Doctorate of Education, from USC. Dr. Allen was awarded the first post doctoral fellowship given by Avery African American Research Center in Charleston. Dr. Allen also was a teacher and administrator in Charleston County Schools for 20 years before earning my Ed.D.

Dr. Allen has authored or co-authored 47 academic publications, including four books with one book co-authored with students, and twelve peer-reviewed journal articles, along with encyclopedia entries and book reviews. She has made forty-two presentations about her academic research at national and international conferences.
