Jameel Allen Sr. (Class of '01) is a member of the South Carollina State University from Greenville, South Carolina. His service has included:

Background
Allen is a proven energy executive with a successful 23-year track-record in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Operations & Maintenance industry. Allen’s recent and current leadership roles include serving as senior executive for Charah Solutions and Allied Power. Prior to that, he served in various leadership roles domestically and internationally for Fluor Corporation (Fortune 200 Corporation) to include chief of staff for the the Corporate Development Board, Client services excellent leader for the Global Business and Business Development Executive. His industry involvement includes power, oil & gas, chemicals, manufacturing, life sciences, automotive and the government sector.
Allen served as an in-country executive while in Afghanistan from July 2009 through July 2010. His experience in Afghanistan allowed for a steam-lined delivery of life-line infrastructure and services for the Army and other servicemen and women. His business travels and assignments have included Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bangkok, China, South Africa, Afghanistan, Europe, Canada, Caribbean Island, Fiji and Russia. Allen is constantly pursing opportunities that allow for greater diversity and inclusion and increased participation for black-owned businesses with an ultimate goal of bridging the equity gap.
Allen served as chairman of the Board of Visitors at South Carolina State University in 2013 and currently serves on the Board of Trustees at South Carolina State University while representing the 4th Congressional District in SC. Allen provides academic scholarship funds to students each year and plays an integral role in mentoring students locally and statewide.
Additionally, Allen serves on the Board of Governors at the Commerce Club in Greenville, SC.
He also is serving his 13th year as youth basketball coach. Allen partners with the Greer Relief Center each year where he purchases several hundred turkeys to ensure families from economically depressed backgrounds have a warm and healthy meal during Thanksgiving. This has become a rich tradition that started after remaining focused on the economic gap and continuous need for families in depressed communities.
He partners with the American Cancer Society each year to raise funds for research
and to assist existing cancer patients and survivors during the “Relay for Life” event.
In addition, he serves as an Ambassadors for “Real Men Wear Pink”. Allen served on
the Electric Power Board of Advisors for the Power Industry in North America.
Allen also partners with his wife each year to provide financial support for the Taylors
Free Medical Clinic located in Taylors, SC. The Taylors Free Medical Clinic operates
based on volunteers and financial donations for those citizens that can't afford medical
insurance.
He previously served on the African American Leadership Council for the United Way in Greenville, SC. Allen holds a bachelor’s degree from South Carolina State and a MBA from the W.P. Carey of School of Business at Arizona State University. Additional affiliations include Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, 100 Black Men of America.
Allen's greatest affiliation is to his wife Telicia. They have been blessed with three young Men: Caleb, Champ & Joel.
