ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- South Carolina State University recognized several major donors and groups of donors
during Saturday's Bulldogs football game against Norfolk State in Oliver C. Dawson
Stadium.
The gifts represented the donors' commitment to SC State's mission of serving South
Carolina citizens through education, research, outreach and public service.

The university welcomed Deloris Frazier, her sister, May Helen Frazier, both natives
of Orangeburg, and Dr. Yvonne Johnson. Deloris presented $100,000 to the College of
Business & Information Systems (CBIS) and The Power of Excellence Fund. Joining them
were on the field were President Alexander Conyers, Dr. John Michael Lee Jr., vice
president of institutional advancement, and Dr. Nathan Cochran, athletic director,
and Dr. Matthew Guah, CBIS dean. Deloris will be inducted as a distinguished member
of the Class of the 2025 Thomas E. Miller Society.
Members of the 1974 Bulldog Football team presented the university with a $40,000
donation in honor of the 50th anniversary of SC State's 1974 MEAC Championship, the
first of 19 championships.
Donors of the Game: SC State recognized Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Stevens, distinguished
members of the Thomas E. Miller Society and the Champions Club. Joining them were
on the field were President Alexander Conyers, Dr. John Michael Lee Jr., vice president
of institutional advancement, and Dr. Nathan Cochran, athletic director.
SC State honored Dr. Lillie Beasley Glover, a proud alumna. Dr. Glover presented a
generous check for $40,776.10 to support the Dr. Lillie Beasley Glover Endowed Scholarship
and her Class of 1961.
SC State welcomed Charles Singley III, a proud alumnus of South Carolina State University.
He was at the game on behalf of his father, Charles E. Singley Jr., to present a generous
check for $40,500 to the Class of 1979 fund.
SC State welcomed Frank E. Walker, a proud 1973 alumnus. Walker presented $90,116.35
to elevate campus initiatives. Walker will be inducted as a distinguished member of
the Class of 2025 in the Thomas E. Miller Society.
SC State welcomed Trustee Monica Scott, a distinguished member of the university's
Board of Trustees. Scott and her husband, Dyson, presented $30,000 to the Dr. Emily
England Clyburn Honors College. Alongside Lee, Conyers and Cochran, Trustee Scott
was joined on the field by Dr. William Whitaker, dean of the Honors College, and Dr.
Windy Stephenson, executive director of the Honors College. In addition, the Honors
College presented Trustee Scott with an exclusive Honors College blazer, symbolizing
her exceptional commitment to the Honors College and its mission.
SC State welcomed April Thomas, director of operations and community development for
the James E. Clyburn Scholarship and Research Foundation, who presented a generous
check for $39,000 for the Rudolph Canzater scholarships.
Food Lion, the presenting sponsor of the Sack To Give Back Campaign, announced that
30,000 meals this season have been donated to local neighbors in need. In partnership
with Bulldog Express Pantry and Food Lion Feeds, SC State welcomed Amber Damon assistant
manager of the local Food Lion store.
