SC State parking and campus access instructions for Homecoming game day

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State University Police Chief Richard Johnson has issued the following instructions and reminders for parking and campus access for the Bulldogs’ Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 26:

Dear Bulldog Nation,

As you are aware, Homecoming is a time for celebration, reunion, and reflection on all we have achieved together. This type of celebration typically increases the volume of pedestrians and vehicle traffic. In efforts to ensure that pedestrian and vehicle traffic flows smoothly, please adhere to the following reminders to prevent congestion on the campus. 

Parking:

  • The cost for parking on campus is $20.
  • Single-game parking can be purchased online in advance at scsuathletics.com.
  • ·General parking for game day can only access campus through gates 2 (Russell Street) and 3 (Magnolia Street.)
  • ·Reserved parking with an access pass will enter gates 1 (Buckley Street & Goff Avenue)4 (Russell & Buckley Streets) and 5 (Chestnut Street).
  • Please park only in designated areas to avoid being towed.

Tailgating:

  • Tailgating in the Game Zone will open at 8 a.m. for State Club members.
  • State Club RV Members may enter campus starting Friday afternoon. Any RV-pulling vehicles MUST have a parking pass for both vehicles.
  • Enter at your designated entry gate with proper passes and tickets.
  • Tailgating will end no later than midnight.
  • ·Vehicles that are left overnight without approval will be subject to tow at the owner’s expense.

Ticket Sales:

  • All patrons MUST have a ticket to enter the campus.
  • If you do not have a ticket, you may purchase a ticket/s at the Crawford-Zimmerman Building located on Naylor Street & Pinckney Street.
  • To purchase game day tickets, you MUST enter campus from Gate 2 (Russell Street).

Golf Carts:

  • Only State Club Members with a parking pass for a golf cart are allowed to have golf carts on game day. 
  • University officials are allowed to have golf carts on campus
  • No personal golf carts will be permitted on campus.

Stadium Entry:

  • A clear bag policy will be in effect on game day. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • All patrons must have a ticket and can enter through Stadium Gates 1 and 2.
  • College students may enter through the Student Gate with a current student ID.
  • Only State Club members may enter through the State Club gate.

Concert Attendees:

  • All concert participants MUST have a concert ticket to enter the campus.
  • Tickets may be purchased online at scsuatheletics.evenue.net.
  • Concert participants MUST enter campus from gates 2 (Russell Street) 3 (Magnolia Street) and will not be allowed to drive/park beyond the I.P. Stanback Museum & Planetarium.

Reminders:

  • No weapons/drugs are allowed anywhere on school property. Violators will be subject to criminal charges. 
  • ·Remember to lock vehicles and secure all valuables out of plain sight!
  • SC State is not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen items.
  • There will be a heavy presence of law enforcement & security personnel. In the case of an emergency, please report to the SCSU Public Safety’s Information/dispatch office located inside Dawson Stadium under Sections M, N and O.
