A comprehensive safety and security approach

University officials said the changes allow for stronger monitoring of campus access points while improving traffic efficiency during peak hours. The entrance procedures support more efficient credential verification and enhanced emergency response coordination.

The University employs 12 sworn campus police officers and maintains a weapons-detection K-9 unit. The updated gate procedures build upon recent safety enhancements, including additional and repaired fencing, expanded security camera coverage, lighting upgrades and the installation of emergency call boxes across campus.
