Earn Your Health Sciences Degree at South Carolina State University
Through the Department of Health Sciences, you’ll find programs that prepare you for a variety of jobs in the healthcare and education sectors. With five majors to choose from including Physical Education and Sport Communication, you’ll hone your skills as you develop your passion through exciting courses and experiential learning.
Our programs are designed to promote fitness and wellness through physical activity and applied exercise. Through your coursework, you’ll gain critical thinking and information management skills as you practice research and learn current scientific practices. You’ll develop the skills necessary to treat and diagnose diseases and issues for better patient outcomes. Best of all, you’ll be making a difference in the lives of your patients and your patients' loved ones!
\The Department of Health Sciences offers opportunities to get involved both inside and outside of class! You'll have the chance to shadow professionals in your field and work in a variety of settings and collaborate and network with colleagues, gaining valuable experience along the way. You'll also have opportunities to build community by getting involved with extracurricular activities like intramural sports.
Through these experiential learning activities, you will develop the alertness, confidence, and courtesy to become a high-quality healthcare professional.
