Concentration in Activity Management

Students in the Activity Management concentration learn how to bridge the fields of sports administration , recreation and business to have an impact in a fast-growing economic segment of a society eager to balance work and life.

The program provides an opportunity to gain organizational, administration and management skills useful in park and recreation departments, professional sports organizations, fitness programs, recreation and aquatic facilities, golf courses, resorts and fitness centers and camps.

This degree has one of the largest career opportunities available to the students coming out of college.

Graduates typically go on to work in sports administration such as an athletic director or in the parks and recreation field as a recreation administrator.

What You’ll Learn

  • PE304 Recreation and Outdoor Education- This course is unique to the students since we go out in the community and visit location facilities related to the field. Students have the chance to get hands on and ask professionals questions about their craft.
  • PE203 Teaching Team Sports- Students are brought out of the classroom and into the gymnasium to actually take part in many unique sports.
  • Internships/Practicums are offered during a student's senior year, to provide them with initial experience in a respected field. These opportunities also serve as a great networking tool.
