SC State junior presents cancer research at Lowvelo Research Trainee Symposium for second time
ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State University junior Victoria Jordan is presenting her pancreatic cancer research today (Friday, Dec. 1) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) LOWVELO Research Trainee Symposium at the Hollings Cancer Center in Charleston. This marks the second consecutive year that Jordan has been invited to present her findings at the symposium. She is the first undergraduate ever to be invited to make an oral presentation for two years in a row. This year she is presenting on the PTEN/STAT3 pathway in cancer-associated fibroblasts in pancreatic cancer. Her work was conducted last summer at MUSC with Dr. Michael Ostrowski. Jordan is a biochemistry major from Fort Mill, South Carolina, and one of two White House Scholars at SC State.
