ACCREDITATION

South Carolina State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelor’s, master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. STATE AUTHORIZATION

As a National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) approved institution, South Carolina State University is authorized to offer our online programs to students who reside in NC-SARA states and territories.  South Carolina State University is also authorized to enroll its students in experiential learning opportunities (clinicals, internships, etc) in other NC-SARA member states.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE DISCLOSURE

Prospective students who reside outside of the state of South Carolina who are interested in any online academic program or courses offered in those programs, which may lead to professional licensure are expected to inquire with the appropriate licensing agency in their home state prior to beginning the program in order to assure that the program is approved to provide the desired licensure. Graduates residing outside of the state of South Carolina must complete the process and requirements for professional licensure in the state of their residency.

The following programs that lead to professional licensure or certification are offered via distance education:

• Ed.S. – Educational Specialist

The Commission provides full online explanation and support of its compliant process at CHE Student Complaint Procedure and form. Complaints regarding student grades or conduct violations are governed entirely by institutional policy and will not be considered by CHE.

VERIFICATION OF STUDENT IDENTITY

Certain online courses may require the completion of an examination in a virtually proctored environment to confirm the identity of students.
