Performance set for 7 p.m. at Vaughan Recital Hall
ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The South Carolina State University Concert Choir will present its Spring Concert
on Friday, April 24, as the ensemble prepares for its upcoming performance at Carnegie
Hall in New York City.
The public is invited. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building’s
Dr. Barbara A. Vaughan Recital Hall on the SC State campus. The performance showcases
the choir’s continued artistic excellence and serves as a culminating campus event
before the group takes the national stage.
Directed by Dr. Johnnie Felder, the Concert Choir will be joined by guest conductor
Dr. Damon Dandridge. Accompanists for the evening include Christopher Leysath and
Thomas Lloyd on piano.
The program will feature a range of choral selections highlighting the ensemble’s
versatility, technical skill and expressive depth, reflecting the university’s long-standing
commitment to musical excellence.
Taylor Johnson, soprano, will be featured as a guest soloist.
Friday's performance offers the campus and surrounding community an opportunity to
experience the choir’s work before its Carnegie Hall appearance, marking a significant
milestone for the ensemble and the university.
